Since I can remember, I always loved construction. In 1995, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Once I moved to the US in 1999, after two years of working in different industries, I decided to get my GC license and became a General Contractor. Since I didn't have any experience relate to construction in the US, I started looking for a job. I got my first construction job as an estimator working for local commercial framing and drywall contractor.
In 2004, I decided to establish my own company, starting with what I have learned about commercial framing and drywall and planned to move to general contracting within a couple of years. That was the reason I added "Construction" after "AmTech" when choosing the name for my corporation. For one year, I studied hard to learn different aspects of running a successful business.
Finally, I decided to quit my full-time job. With the support of my family, AmTech Construction was officially operational in 2005.

AmTech Construction President and CEO, Ali Mousavi, celebrated 15 years in the construction industry last September. Alongside his team of engineers, supervisors, crew members, business partners, and his family, Ali expressed his gratitude towards all of the people that helped make AmTech’s 15-year milestone possible.
Established in 2004, AmTech Construction officially started its first project in 2005. Since then, the company has overcome many challenges to get to the level that it finds itself today.
‘Throughout our 15-year journey, I had the opportunity to get to know and meet great people, including my employees, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and many other amazing people and we are very grateful for all the people and businesses that we have worked with over the last 15 years.’
The AmTech team has taken on over 70 significant projects. From those, 19 were projects completed for the Wake County School system. AmTech has also taken part in the renovation and construction of 5 Universities in the UNC System.
Since 2005, AmTech has expanded the services it offers to its clients; this has been made possible through years of collaboration with various company partners and suppliers throughout North Carolina. “I am confident that the relationship and trust that we have developed with our partners and clients goes into the future of AmTech Construction.” It is the connections made with industry leaders over the years that AmTech hopes to rely on as we take on the new challenges and projects that will come in the next decade.
